FARA & BUTE is a luxury fabric and wallpaper design studio inspired by fine artist Alison Gibbons Watt. Our designs strike the balance between opulence and minimalism, drawing inspiration from the elegance of nature and the sophistication of modern art.​
Hailing from the western shores of Scotland, Alison is influenced by the legacy of the Scottish colourist artists who embraced vibrant color palettes in their emotive landscapes. Her creations are inspired by a deep well of creativity and vision, driven by her passion for modern art and her dedication to fine art painting.
Her exploration of diverse materials and a whimsical attitude towards technique result in stunning serendipities, enabling the artwork and imagery to thrive within an elegant aesthetic.

​Alison has developed her aesthetic over a 20 year career in textiles for the design industry, consulting for some of the most iconic labels in interiors and fashion internationally.
​
Her prints have graced the catwalks of London and New York Fashion Week, as well as seasonal displays in Paris, London and Florence. Regularly featured in the press and fashion magazines, including British Vogue, her work has garnered widespread acclaim.
